Open House – Wrapping Up Summer

Fall is here, daylight is getting less and the temperatures are dropping. In a way it feels like the farming and gardening season is coming to an end for yet another year. Cucumbers and zucchinis are barely producing anymore, tomatoes and peppers are at their peak, salad greens are growing slower and the sunflowers are bringing out their seeds for the next year. At that point, it’s time to think ahead again. Time to prep fields for the winter and spring. Adding some more composted manure to bring nitrogen levels up again, planting cover crops to prevent the soil from getting washed out and away by the winter rains.

Saturday, September 23rd, 2pm to 5pm

Do you have a garden? How’s it growing?  We’d love to hear from you. Want to know how we do farming here?  Come on over. Everyone knows something and knowledge is best shared among all of us.
